Flying between Paris and Marseille takes about 1h15 in the air, but once airport transfers on both ends and security are factored in, the roughly 3-hour, city-center-to-city-center TGV is competitive or faster door-to-door for most travelers; driving the roughly 775km via the A6 and A7 autoroutes takes upwards of 7-8 hours without stops.
